sound sucks August 17, 2010 Jesse Naftel laptop is pretty good. weight isnt bad considering 17 inch screen. only negative thing is the sound sucks. i have made every attempt to increase volume and cant seem to get it very loud in comparison to other laptops and computer speakers. other than the sound, its a good piece of machinery
HP Screens do not last August 13, 2010 Marc Merriam HP has had some severe problems with their screens and this doesnt seem to be well enough known. Staples really pushes hp and doesnt even acknowledge this problem but its the real deal. I have purchsed two different hp laptops about 1 year apart and like clockwork, first, 1 went after a year and then after about the same ownership period, the other went.
these days, it is not cost effective to have laptops repaired so you end up taking the total loss.
asus seems to be the best.
Sound volume a bit too low July 22, 2010 Q. Chen (CA, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A good desktop-replacement laptop. Sturdy and heavy. Seems working just fine. Wish the sound volume could be a bit higher. A solution may be to use external speakers.
Good Laptop for the Money Spent June 14, 2010 Rick the Camera Man (USA) Got it on sale with a rebate and a FREE HP printer (FREE with rebate), good buy for the product and price.
Heavy (to be expected from a 17" display) and also shorter than stated battery life, but as a Pro Photographer I needed the large display and am heavy on power usage, but for the value given I am very happy with the laptop.
Realy Good Laptop June 10, 2010 ernest paul williams I bought this computer for $531 with tax on clearance at walmart,it was the last one they had. The price almost as good on this site. I love this computer,it has enough harddrive for 30,000+ mp3 with 150gb to spare. The wide screen looks huge when use it on your lap,the video is clear and the colors rich. I did not have any trouble setting it up,it did 90% by it's self. The Windows 7 is very easy to use, much better than Vista. The black and silver color combinanation looks great. The speakers are very good, the sound is clear and loud enough to enjoy.
